Inside Victoria Circle, London Victoria Glass View Photograph

Victoria station, also known as London Victoria, is a central London railway terminus built to serve both the Brighton and Chatham main lines, and has always had a “split” feel of being two separate stations. This beautiful image is full of frozen glass and the motion of people sat in the nearby restaurant building blurred as per the photographers intent to show motion in a timeless place. Full of fruity colours and a perspective that leads the eye into more detail each time you look close.

About London Victoria Station

There are two connected Underground stations at Victoria, on different levels and built more than a century apart. The older one, on the north side of the bus station, serves the District and Circle lines, constructed by ‘cut and cover methods just below road level. The newer station, closer to the main line station, serves the Victoria line, a deep-level tube. Each has its own ticket hall, and the two are connected by a pedestrian passage beneath the bus station. Victoria is currently the third busiest station on the Underground, after Waterloo and King’s Cross St. Pancras, with 83.50 million using the station in 2016. The station was not built for this number of passengers, which results in overcrowding requiring crowd control measures to be implemented at busy times. A £700m upgrade of the station is underway, which will double the size of the existing station. Victoria Station is a major railway and underground station in London. The station is in central London and close to Westminster, Pimlico and Belgravia
